Carter Allison Car Accident: Henry County High School Student Carter Allison Dies
PARIS, Tenn. Friends, teachers, and neighbors across Henry County are mourning the loss of Carter Allison, a Henry County High School student who died after being involved in a car crash on July 6.
Word of the crash spread quickly through the small Paris community, where Allison was known well beyond his own grade level for his personality, his love of the outdoors, and the relationships he built with people of all ages.
Known for his personality in the classroom
Chewy Jackson, who teaches welding at Henry County High, said Allison had a way of turning an ordinary class period into something memorable. He and his group of friends were known for bringing stories from hunting trips, freshly caught fish, and an easy sense of humor into the shop room.
- Teachers and classmates remembered him as one of the most well-liked students in the building
- He often shared fish he had caught with classmates during class
- Friends say it was common for him to show up early after riding his bike over for breakfast
A familiar face in youth sports and fishing
Allison’s ties to the community ran through sports long before high school. Members of Henry County Fall Baseball recalled coaching him in basketball as a child, and he later returned to local baseball fields as a youth umpire in the spring.
He was also part of a regional student bass fishing group, where teammates described him as a talented and dependable angler.
People who spent time with him say he had a rare ability to connect with adults on his own level, never acting like the youngest person in the room.
A family friend recalled one story in particular, saying Allison once pulled his younger brother out of the water during a near-drowning years earlier, an act many now describe as a defining moment for his character.
Community organizing support for the family
In the days following the crash, community members quickly began organizing ways to help Allison’s parents, Jake and Katelynne, and his brothers through the difficult weeks ahead.
- A local sticker fundraiser has been set up, with all proceeds going directly to the family
- Two designs are available, one featuring a fishing rod and one featuring a truck
- Interested buyers are asked to comment or message directly, with payments accepted through Venmo
Local faith leaders and longtime residents have shared messages online asking parents throughout Henry County to hold their own children close this week.
As of this writing, no public funeral arrangements had been announced. Community members are continuing to ask for prayers and support for the Allison family in the days ahead.
